Granarolo
In 1919 Evaristo Girotti opened a bread and pasta shop in the centre of Bologna. In 1969 Evaristo's grandsons the Mattei brothers, moved the business to it's new site in Granarolo dell'Emilia, and named the factory after the village. The company continues to produce a variety of premium quality artisan egg and durum wheat pastas with a daily output of 30 metric tons which is exported all over the world.
