GiGi Importing’s knowledge and experience in the food business stems from three generations, beginning when his grandparents opened the first Vanacore local grocery store and bakery in Vico Equense, a town just outside of Naples. Working there alongside his parents as a boy, Gigi developed a deep respect for Italian food rooted in origin, craftsmanship, and tradition. By the age of 25, Gigi had opened a store of his own, and at 29 he came to Canada, driven by a desire to share the authentic Italian food culture he grew up with—food grown and produced in Italy, shaped by regional practices and generations of expertise.

Today, Gigi’s vision is proudly carried forward by the fourth generation, his children Flavio and Mena. They play an integral role in strengthening customer and supplier relationships while continuing the family legacy of providing a truly authentic Italian food experience. Their work reflects the same values that have earned Italy global recognition for food excellence, including UNESCO’s acknowledgment of Italy’s unmatched culinary heritage.
